Canada Water

One of the great things about stained glass is being able to create work that has personal meaning for the customer. This can be very subtle as in use of a particular colour or a painted scene or occasionally it can be really going for it! The job below is based on the customer's photo of Canada Water tube station designed by Sir Norman Foster.

We jazzed up the lift shaft a bit and added some faceted jewels to the escalators and added bevelled glass to the roof. The impressions of people on the escalators are a 'hats off' to a brilliant Dutch printmaker Hendrik Nicolaas Werkman (1882 - 1945). Sadly there doesn't seem to be a website dedicated to him but do an image search on his name and you will discover his amazing work, or find out some info here http://dreamersrise.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/h-n-werkman.html .
