It's not often you find a makers stamp on glass. But cleaning revealed this stamp rolled into the glass. Registered by Chance Brothers with trademark listing 1928 - 1942. There are many other beautiful glasses in this classic 30's panel; Glistre, Pilkingtons Number 2, Stippolyte, see my website for more old glasses http://www.apollostainedglass.co.uk/category_mog.htm .

Beautiful New Cross
New Cross has some of the most expensive Victorian stained glass work put in by the Haberdashers Company when the area was developed in the second half of the 19th Century. Lucky for us much of the original glass remains and I have completed a lot of restoration work and new matching work in this area. These original panels, arrived via a local glazier and needed a complete rebuild. There were a number of styles repeated across whole streets and these panels are typical of the classic Victorian geometric style. For more info on this area click here; http://www.new-cross.net/history-of-telegraph-hill/ .
